Raj Ride

The ride cuts across Marwar and Mewar regions of Rajasthan, the western Indian state. Whereas the ride starts over some spectacular dunes in Marwar, it ends into the greenery and chill of Mount Abu in Mewar amidst the Aravali Hills. You will also come across some interesting geographical features, much to be witnessed than written about (also to preserve the element of surprise).

Day 1 - Arrival in Jodhpur. Check in to the hotel. Meet your ride lead who will brief you on the ride policy, security aspects, rules and expectations. You will be handed over your motorcycles following verification of license, identity and personal insurance documentation. If time permits, a quick tour of Jodhpur City can be arranged.

Day 2 - Post early breakfast, ride to Mehrangarh Fort. Post lunch, ride to Osian Dunes and check into the resort. Late afternoon, pick your choice of activity from Camel Ride or Dune Safari (pay for the activity you would like to do). Spend the evening around camp fire at the resort with local music and dance. Overnight at the resort.

Day 3 - Post breakfast, ride to Korna lake through backroads which pass though villages and sand tracts for most of the route. Lunch break will be atop a hill with stunning views of the surrounding area. Enjoy sunset by Korna lake. There is good opportunity for some photography. There is also an optional activity of tandem paragliding at an additional cost. Overnight on a local farm. Accommodation will be camping style and food will be genuine home cooked local food.

Day 4 - Post breakfast, ride to Kumbhalgarh. Lunch will be around an isolated tract and a local farmhouse. Late afternoon, arrive at Kumbhalgarh and check into your hotel. Visit Kumbhalgarh Fort. Enjoy the sound and light show by the sunset. This is an open air activity so be very warm during the winters. Return to hotel for dinner and a good night sleep.

Day 5 - Post breakfast, take a walk along the perimeter walls of Kumbhalgarh Fort. This is the second longest wall built around a fort after the Great Wall of China. Post lunch, ride to Udaipur. You will reach Udaipur by late afternoon. Check into your hotel. Retire for the night following a good buffet dinner.

Day 6 - Post breakfast, walk out onto the old quarters of Udaipur. Visit the Palace and lake palace. Following a buffet lunch, wander around the city quarters at you own leisure. This is a nice shopping opportunity. Late afternoon by the lake side followed by dinner and return to hotel for the night.

Day 7 - Post breakfast, ride to Mount Abu. Today, you enter and exit a completely contrasting terrain, not only in landscape, but also around village life which is very contrasting to the rest of Rajasthan. The route follows a dry river bed as well as some jungle tracts. Lunch will be around noon en route. You will reach Mount Abu by late afternoon to early evening. Check into your hotel and have a good night sleep post dinner.

Day 8 - Post breakfast, ride around and visit the various places of interest in Mount Abu, which includes the Delwara Temple, Garden of Peace and winding routes reaching the highest points of the hill. Following a buffet lunch, return to hotel and relax with a quick rest. Late afternoon, walk onto the shopping hub around the Nakki Lake. Spend the time at your own leisure. Buffet dinner with opportunities to share ride experiences, exchange friendship contacts and give us your ride feedbacks.

Day 9 - Post breakfast, bid farewell followed by transfer to Udaipur / Abu Road for your onward journeys back home or next destinations.
